Our annual Memorial Day Weekend Church picnic is May 27! Taking place at Midoriland on beautiful Big Bear Lake in the mountains above San Bernardino, join us as we relax and enjoy God’s beauty. The picnic will begin at 11am on Saturday, May 27. The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs to BBQ, and you bring desserts and sides to share!
Sign-ups are on the desk in the reception area. All are welcome to spend the weekend, however, space is limited with only 6 rooms available, so sign up SOON! Pr. Tricia Lowe and her husband Tim will be hosting, there will be a worship service around the fireplace on Sunday morning. Please contact Pr. Tricia for more information.
ANNUAL EMMANUEL CONGREGATION MEETING JUNE 4, 2017
The Council of Emmanuel Lutheran Church is calling for the Annual Congregation Meeting on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 11:15am right after the worship service. We will be electing Council Members, Nominating Committee Members, Emmanuel Lutheran Foundation Trustees, and 2018 Synod Assembly Voting Representatives. We also will be voting on a proposed 2017-2018 budget.
Budget forums will be Tuesday, May 23 at 8:30 – 9:30 am and on Sunday, May 28 at 11:15 am after the worship service. Please include these important dates in your May and June schedules; your attendance and active participation are most important to our

Featuring New City Parish Gospel Choir
The Emmanuel Friends of Music are pleased to announce the return of the New City Parish Gospel Choir, back for their third appearance under the vibrant direction of director Mark Coates. Song selections include traditional church hymns infused with a gospel flair and contemporary gospel hits.
The choir has resounded within churches of various denominations and at ELCA Synod assemblies, conventions, convalescent hospitals, banquets, special holiday services, city-prayer events, and regional youth gatherings. NCP itself is a coalition of eight Lutheran congregations serving South Los Angeles, Inglewood and Compton and the diversity of people found there.
A freewill offering will be received to benefit the notable work of this indispensable organization, now in its 25th year doing God’s work in our communities. Check it out at http://www.newcityparish.org.
